Application of Grinding Machines in Carbon Graphite Product Processing

May28,24

Grinding machines are machine tools that use abrasive tools such as grinding wheels, abrasive belts, oilstones, and abrasives for grinding operations. These machines have been developed to meet the needs of fine machining and hard surface processing.

In carbon graphite product processing, some products require high surface precision. Grinding machines are employed to achieve lower surface roughness on these products. Grinding machines are widely used for the fine machining of parts’ surfaces, especially for hardened steel parts and high-hardness special materials. Grinding carbon graphite products can easily achieve high processing accuracy and low surface roughness. Under general processing conditions, the accuracy is of m-m6 grade, and the surface roughness is 0.32-1.25 μm. When precision grinding is performed on a high-precision cylindrical grinder, the standard accuracy can reach 0.2 μm, roundness can reach 0.1 μm, and surface roughness can be controlled to 0.01 μm. The flatness of precision surface grinding can reach 0.0015/1000.

In recent years, the advancement of science and technology has increased the requirements for the precision and surface roughness of machine and instrument parts. The use of various high-hardness materials is also increasing. Simultaneously, the continuous improvement of grinding technology has expanded the application range of grinding machines, and their proportion in metal cutting machine tools has been rising. Currently, in industrially developed countries, grinding machines account for 30%-40% of metal cutting machine tools in carbon graphite product processing.
